Thank you, Nazish. Yes, one of things I've appreciated most about writing poetry is that it allows me to gain a new insight into something that I'd given little thought. During the course of the poem, as you rightly point out, the subject of interest seems to change in the eyes of the viewer - even though, in truth, they've been like that all along.
