He talks aloud The sound a Booming voice in the Empty corners Of these empty rooms. Yet all the mourners Have long gone. Still, he has no choice. Who else is there To hear but Him? Or whatever is Akin to Him.
Thanks Scott. Yes, I quite like the structure to this one, so thanks for pointing it out. I’m not sure I’m satisfied with the conclusion, but as generally most poems I post are second-passes, it could probably do with looking at again. But I’m glad you appreciated the sentiment here, and the pace. Much appreciated.
people say mental illness is just biology. what do they know of lava-fields like ... failed vows, stolen valor, tender things stepped on, frantic frights to protect pride, ego-self-pettings, secrets kept and unkept, vices camped out in ... and monsters embraced
Thanks, as always, for taking the time to respond Alex. Writing poetry has allowed me to explore memory and emotions that I’ve long harboured but haven’t always expressed. So, it’s been very useful, as well as creatively satisfying.
Thank you Jennifer. It’s been something of a blessing really to be able to write poetry in this way; to communicate emotion or memory that I’ve only just beginning to explore. I’m glad, therefore, that it resonates. It’s encouraging.
Really liked this. The structure made it flow fast, enhancing the sense of quick moving, ever-changing, and tortured thoughts. Nice job.

Powerfully sad and disjointed piece. Wishing you well ❤️

Oh my god, the sadness. You touch my heart. 💓
And thank you for continuing to read my poetry, Rea. Knowing that it connects with someone is always encouraging and special.
